Nancy Deal Obituary
Nancy graduated from Emma Sansom High School in 1975. She was a member of the Sierra Club and the Historical Society. Nancy was a reptile enthusiast, but she had a love for all animals.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Deal Jr.; and sister, Tyna Partee.
Survivors include her son, Tom (Lindsey) Deal; parents, Rose and Bobby Scarboro; sisters, Cindy Gray, Ramona McCory; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Etowah County Humane Society.
The family would like to give special thanks to the ICU staff of Riverview Regional Medical Center. Online condolences may be made at www.collier-butler.com.

I pray God gives strength to the ones left grieving. I haven't seen Nancy in years but I remember her picture at Cartees with the snake wrapped around her. She truly loved reptiles, it was her gift.

Nancy is the one I remember as my best friend through my long life. We share a deep love and compassion for the critters of the earth. We share a love for rock and Southern music, Jim Dandy and Black Oak Arkansas, Alice Cooper, Lynard Skynard, Ted Nugent and the Amboy Dukes, Fleetwood Mac, the Allman Brothers, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, and so many more! I love her wonderful parents Bobby and Rose (Mr. and Mrs. to me!) Scarboro, and her sisters Lolly and Cindy. I remember the shared family vacations of our childhood,the wild days of our youth, and the brilliant light Nancy has always shined for me, no matter how far apart we were. Love you Nancy, and know we will always be connected in this life and beyond. I am comforted by your loving presence in this moment and always. Your friend forever, Jo.

Nancy was one of my favorite people... not just because she was my cousin, but because she lived life on Nancy's terms. Nothing and no one stood in her way and she pursued everything she loved with determination and passion. She will be missed, but her inspiration will never leave us. Rest in peace.
