Sophie Headen Obituary

Sophie Dorothy Headen
Sophie Headen passed on December 20. She was born and raised in New Orleans, LA. Sophie attended Alabama State College (for Negroes). There she became a member of Delta Sigma Theta and graduated with a BA in History and M. Ed.
Sophie taught elementary school and retired from the Gadsden City School System.
Sophie married Lestt Headen; they were married for 58 years prior to his passing. From this union came 1 child from a previous marriage and 3 more children.
Sophie is survived by the children: Wayne (Sharon) Headen, Clayashbie H. Williams, Theodore (Vanessa) Headen, and Stephen (Valencia) Headen; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and a host of nephews and nieces.
Memorial Service will be held at St. James Catholic Church on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at 1:00 pm.
