Sue Cranford Obituary

Sue Hill Cranford left her earthly life on Feb. 1, 2009, and was met by her mother, Lula Mae Daniel, and her grandson, James Allen McNeal, at Heaven's gate. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all.

Mrs. Cranford was a member of James Memorial Baptist Church and a former member of North Highland Baptist Church. She retired from Gaston School lunchroom after many wonderful years. She cherished her time around her kitchen table where she loved to cook and never was without a fresh pot of coffee. Her daughters were her greatest treasures and she spent her life devoted to taking care of her husband and children.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 63 years, James; her daughters, Diane (Jeff) Clevenger, Peggy Thornton, Sylvia Isbell and Terri Cranford (Brandy Hilley); her brother, Glenn (Katrina) Hill; and her sisters, Frances Taliaferro, Willow Dean McLaughlin and Janis Burke; her grandchildren, Susan (Gary) Cooper, Sandra (Del) Lawler, HughLena O'Bar, Jana (Adam) Stokes, Nina (Nick) Lewis, Cindy (Frank) Dummar, Anna (Jimmy) Fox, Bobbi Lynn (Carl) Irvine and Jodi Case; 14 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; chosen daughter, Jodi Lynn (Brett) Trommler; and chosen granddaughter, Kandi Hann.

Pallbearers will be Adam Stokes, Blaine Stokes, Del Lawler, Brett Trommler, Gary Cooper and Jason Pitts.

We would like to extend a special thanks to Gadsden Regional Home Health and Wiregrass Hospice, especially Stephanie Cox whom we are sure must be one of God's special angels on earth. The family would like to thank everyone for all the support, visits and prayers during the courageous battle that she fought which has ended in victory.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 this evening at Crestwood Funeral Home and funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. John Martin will be officiating. Crestwood Funeral Home directing.

Draw Close to God and He will draw close to you....James 4:8

I wanted to let you guys know I'm praying for you and I love you all. I am so honored that I knew my maw maw Sue. She taught me many things but the important one was the Love of Jesus she showed to me. His unconditional Love even though biologically I was not one of her granddaughters, she loved me like one. I will never forget that as long as I live. I pray that I will show the love of Christ like she showed me to everyone.

I pray that God Almighty in His Infinite Wisdom grant you all peace during this time. Sue was a wonderful woman who touched countless lives. She was a blessing to all who knew her. Dealing with the loss of a loved on is difficult for us to deal with at times, but we must take comfort in knowing that Sue is at peace. She now is painless with a perfect body sitting with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We who knew her who are left behind need to learn something from the way she lived her life. She had a love for all those that she knew, and we should love those around us as well. May this wonderful, precious woman get the eternal rest which she so richly deserves.

In Him,
Pastor Claybo

'And He will be called Wonderful Counselor'
Isaiah 9:6

We will always miss our dear Suzy! We know, just like you, that Suzy is in the arms of Jesus on that Glorious side. Mere words cannot begin to ease the sorrow of your loss. We do express our deepest sympathy.

We know Suzy heard those words we long to hear Matthew 25:23 'Jesus replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Now enter the Joy of your Lord!

We would like for you all to know many wonderful brother's and sister's are daily praying for you. Just like when Peter was kept in prison the church was 'Earnestly Praying--Acts 12:5' we too are earnestly praying. We are praying the Lord Jesus Christ will comfort you with His peace, surround you with His love, and encourage you with His presence. 'Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and our God and Father, who has loved us and by His grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.'
2 Thessalonians 2:16 & 17

With the Love of Jesus Christ Everlasting,
Brett, Jodi Lynn, Kandi and Maw-Maw Jody
