Gaffney, SC - Ellen Aileen Gordon Sparks, 88, formerly of 1302 Concord Road, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 13, 2021 at Peachtree Centre.

Born in Kings Mountain, NC, she was the widow of the late Joe Mac Sparks, Sr. and daughter of the late George Washington Gordon and Martha Sellars Gordon. She retired from Fiber Industries, formerly worked for Hamricks and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She loved her family, her Church, enjoyed traveling, socializing and ministering to shut-ins.

Surviving is a son, Ricky Lee Duckett (Gail) of Mooresville, NC; a stepson, Reverend Joe Mac Sparks, Jr. (Vivian) of Gaffney; a stepdaughter, Cheryl Corbett (Kevin) of Gaffney; grandchildren, Angela Manns (Aaron), Melissa Griggs (Justin) and Alison Hainley (Brian); stepgrandchildren, Kaitlin Corbett, Jennifer Pittman and Mike Rabon (Jennifer); 12 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a stepson, Billy Sparks, two sisters, Marie Gordon and Aretta Ramsey and three brothers, James Gordon, Winfred Gordon and Gene Gordon.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 17, 2021 in Frederick Memorial Gardens with Reverend Joe Mac Sparks, Jr. and Reverend Joey Shetley officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside. Social distancing and masks are requested.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Calvary Baptist Church, 2929 Cherokee Avenue, Gaffney, SC 29340.
