Gaffney, SC- Ancil Delashmet "Sonny" Delashmet, 86, of 528 Fairview Road, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 5, 2025.
Born in Parma, Missouri, he was the husband of the late Elizabeth "Lib" Price Delashmet son of the late Howell Burle Delashmet Sr. and Ava E. Alsup Delashmet. He was retired from Duke Energy, enjoyed gardening and fishing and was an avid Clemson Tiger fan. Mr. Delashmet was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Barry Lynn Humphries (Pam) and Ancil "Sonny" Delashmet Jr. (Christie), both of Gaffney; a sister, Lois Carden of Steelville, MO; three grandchildren, Kayla Ruppe (Brad), Cole Delashmet (Kristen) and Chase Delashmet (Jessica); eight great-grandchildren, Jared, Allie, Brayden, Addilyn, Charlie, Oakleigh, Jaxon and Josie; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Delashmet was preceded in death by four brothers, John Delashmet, Howell Delashmet, Jerry Delashmet and Roger Delashmet; and a sister, Ann Combs.
The family will receive friends from 3:00PM until 4:00PM on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 4:00PM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Harold Johnson officiating. Inurnment will be held at 10:00AM on Friday, December 12, 2025 at Frederick Memorial Gardens.
The family will be at the home of Sonny and Christie Delashmet, 531 Fairview Road.
