Andrew "Andy" Thomas Gilfillan, 33, of 3710 Sawmill Road passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2018 in Hickory Grove, SC.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at Mount Vernon United Methodist Church with the Reverend Ed Reynolds and the Reverend Mike Goodwin officiating. Burial will be held at Hickory Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Bratton Funeral Home in York from 4 to 6 p.m.
A native of Hickory Grove, Andy was a son of Kenny and Anne Gilfillan. He was a member of Mount Vernon United Methodist Church and the Hickory Grove Fire Department. He was a 2003 graduate of York Comprehensive High School. Andy was employed by Masters Recycling in Chester, SC where he served as the Yard Manager.
He is survived by his parents, Kenny and Anne Bratton Gilfillan of Hickory Grove, paternal grandparents Thomas Bert Gilfillan of Clover, and Bonnie Lattimore Gilfillan of York; brother and sister in law Matthew and Tanya Gilfillan of Hickory Grove and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Leon and Edna Ashley Bratton.
Andy would do anything for anybody and was loved by his family and numerous friends. He was the definition of a "Jack of all trades".
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hickory Grove Fire Department, PO Box 11, Hickory Grove, SC 29717.
