Blacksburg, SC - Arthur Wayne Panther, 82, of 337 Bridges Road, went home to be with the Lord on October 15, 2021, at his residence after a brief illness. He was the husband of Linda Bridges Panther for 60 years and would have celebrated their 61st Anniversary on October 16, 2021, and was the son of the late Archie and Annie Hudson Panther.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Todd and Jason Panther of Blacksburg; a sister, Priscilla (Buster) Kendrick of Shelby, NC; a brother-inlaw, John Bridges of Owensboro, KY; a sister-inlaw, Jane Bridges Wilkins of Blacksburg; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by five brothers, Lawrence (Ophelia), H.K. (Evelina), Willard, Clifford (Louise), Marvin (Becky), a sister, Fannie Jane Hawkins (J.G.); a brother-in-law, Don L. Wilkins; and a sister-inlaw, Barbara Griffin Bridges.
He was employed by the Lily Mills, Shelby, NC, Stouffers, and a self-employed landscaper. Arthur was a farmer, a hunter who loved his birddogs and enjoyed his horses and cattle.
Arthur was a member of Grassy Pond Baptist Church in Gaffney for 38 years, a member of the Morgan McCraw Sunday School Class, the Seniors Club, and prepared the BBQ supper for the Fall Wednesday night churchwide supper for a number of years.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3:00PM on Monday, October 18, 2021 at Grassy Pond Baptist Church. Funeral services will immediately follow at 3:00PM at church with Dr. Wil Owens and Reverend Martin Hogg. Interment will be in Buffalo Baptist Church Cemetery.
