Spartanburg, SC - Boyce Eugene Swinney, 90, formerly of 6152 Woodfield Circle, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at Palmetto Patriots Home.
Born in Fries, Virginia, he was the husband of the late Virginia Elizabeth Stevens Swinney and son of the late Otis Swinney and Sally Leonard Swinney. He retired as president of Universal Trucking Company, was a U. S. Navy veteran, and a very active member of Harvest Baptist Church where he formerly served as the treasurer, a deacon, and Sunday School teacher. He loved his family, golfing, RV traveling and woodworking.
Surviving is a son, Larry Boyce Swinney (Wanda) of Boiling Springs, SC; a daughter, Annette S. Carswell (James) of Inman; a brother, Grady Swinney of Chesnee; two grandsons, Thomas Carswell (Ali) and Joseph Carswell; two great-grandchildren, Ansley Carswell and Graham Carswell; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Swinney and five sisters, Hazel Kirby, Dorothy Stevens, Belva Jones, Edna Elliott and Janice Lee.
A graveside service, with military rites, will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, November 21, 2025 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens with Mr. Ashby Blakely officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Palmetto Patriots Home, 120 Hampshire Drive, Gaffney, SC 29341 or Spartanburg Humane Society, 150 Dexter Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
The family will be at their respective homes.
