Diane Lanier Obituary
Chesnee, SC - Diane Upchurch Lanier, 71, of 221 Burnett's Road, passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at Spartanburg Medical Center.
Born in Gaffney, she was the daughter of Mary Helen Jenkins Upchurch of Gaffney and the late A. B. Upchurch, the companion for 40 years of Mike Lamb of the home, and was formerly married to the late Terry Lanier.
Diane was a graduate of Gaffney High School, was employed as a department manager at Wal-Mart for 46 years, and of the Baptist faith. She loved her family, especially taking care of her mom, flowers, gardening, traveling to the lake and was an avid dirt track racing fan.
Surviving, in addition to her mother and companion, are two daughters, Stefanie Lanier Falls (Michael H.) of Blacksburg and Angela Lanier of Gaffney; six grandchildren, Dylan Lamb, Landon Falls, Olivia Falls, Joshua Lanier (Kelly Allison), Jaylen Mitchell and Jasmine Mitchell (Dyshun Thompson); three great-grandchildren, Kayden, Josiah and Dyshun. She was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Joshua Terry, Jr.
The family will receive friends from 12:30PM until 2:00PM on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 PM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Ashby Blakely officiating. Entombment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Cherokee County Humane Society, P.O. Box 2223, Gaffney, SC, 29342.
The family will be at their respective homes.
