Edgar Poole Obituary
Lyman, SC - Dr. Edgar Morgan Poole, Jr., 79, of 461 Brenda Way, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at his residence.
Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Marilyn Babb Poole and son of the late Dr. Edgar Morgan Poole, Sr. and Malinda Black Poole. Dr. Poole was a graduate of Gaffney High School, a graduate of Limestone College, Brigham Young University and Southern College of Optometry. He was the former owner/operator of Poole Family Eye Care and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Gaffney. He also was a Lions Club member and loved his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Dr. Craig Poole (Emily) of Hendersonville, Dr. Brian Poole of Simpsonville, and Dr. Chad Poole (Julie) of Hoschton, GA; a daughter, Dr. Jennifer Poole Wilcox (Daren) of Inman; two brothers, Dr. Benjamin Poole (Marilyn) of Kings Mountain and Philip Poole of Gastonia; two sisters-in-law, Lenette Poole of Boise, Idaho and Rebecca Poole of Gaffney; twelve grandchildren, Karlee Poole, Connor Poole, Garrett Poole, Mason Poole, Kendall Wilcox, Kaitlyn Poole, Elena Poole, Brielle Wilcox, Gavin Poole, Eddie Poole, Bronson Wilcox and Ellie Grace Poole; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Alan Poole and Dr. Mark Poole, and a sister, Malinda Poole.
The family will receive friends from 2:30PM until 4:00PM on Sunday, December 21, 2025 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Monday, December 22, 2025 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Gaffney with Bishop Doug Fowler officiating. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery.
The family will be at their respective homes.
