Gloria Yvonne Rosemond, 74, beloved sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, transitioned to her heavenly home on June 18, 2025, in La Plata Center in Maryland.
She was born in Washington, DC and was a daughter of the late James T. Rosemond and Mary Ellen Roberts Rosemond.
Gloria was a 1969 graduate of Gaffney High School. She furthered her education and received a degree in Secretarial Science from Durham Business College. Early in her life, she joined Limestone Baptist Church and served there until leaving South Carolina.
She leaves to cherish loving memories: two children, Benjamin Oglesby Jr. of Gaffney, South Carolina, and Shana Gist (Terrance) of Williamsburg, Virginia; two siblings, James Rosemond (Grace) of Greer, South Carolina, and Barbara Noland (Jack) of Fort Washington, Maryland; along with a host of nieces and nephews. Gloria's legacy continues through her three cherished grandchildren, Shanbria Oglesby-Gist (Akeem) of Austin, Texas, Isaiah Gist of Williamsburg, Virginia, and her namesake, Linda Yvonne Gist of Los Angeles, California; great-grandson, Knowledge McCoy, and eagerly awaited great-granddaughter, Sanova McCoy.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 25th, 2:00 p.m., in The Gilmore Mortuary Chapel with the Reverend Dr. Timothy L. Hunter officiating. Interment will be private.
