James Hamrick Obituary
Gaffney, SC - James Everette Hamrick, 83, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at White Oak at North Grove.
Born in Shelby, he was the husband of Catherine Gordon Hamrick and son of the late Sydney Everette Hamrick and Irene Wortman Hamrick. He retired from Hoechst Celanese, was a U. S. Army veteran, and a member of Kirby Church. He loved his Lord and his family.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Mark Hamrick and Richard Hamrick, both of Shelby; two daughters, Lisa Patterson (Craig) and Lana Fowler (Billy), both of Gaffney; a brother, Boyd Hamrick of Shelby; a sister-in-law, Barbara Hamrick of Shelby; eight grandchildren, Melissa Potter, Matt Hamrick (Amanda), Mason Hamrick (Sabrina), Jason Hamrick, Haley Kellermeyer (Chad), Katie Culp (Cameron), Craig Patterson, Jr. (Kayla) and Legend Fowler; eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Roy Hamrick, Charles Hamrick and Jerry Ray Hamrick.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 28, 2025 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 PM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Will Vergara and Reverend Duck McAbee officiating. Interment will be private for the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Kirby Church, 512 Chandler Drive, Gaffney, SC 29340.
The family will be at the residence.
