Jerry Hollifield Obituary
Blacksburg, SC - Jerry Oswald Hollifield, Jr., 55, of 145 Silverman Road, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at his residence.
Born in Gaffney, he was the son of the late Jerry Oswald Hollifield, Sr. and Dorothy Diane Harvey Hollifield. He was a graduate of Blacksburg High School, employed by McAbee Trucking, Inc. and B & M Auto Sales, and of the Baptist faith. He loved his family, racing, fishing and enjoyed building race cars.
He is survived by two sons, Tyler Hollifield of Lincolnton, NC and Justin Hollifield of Blacksburg; a daughter, Brayden Hollifield of Blacksburg; a sister, Lisa Griffin of Gaffney; a brother, Wayne Byars (Angie) of Blacksburg; six grandchildren, Aiden Hollifield, Marley Hollifield, Karter Hollifield, Tyson Hollifield, Benjamin Hollifield and Elijah Hollifield; his girlfriend, Jessica Neal of Blacksburg; his aunt, Doris Greene (Robert) of Gaffney; special friends and adopted family, Butch & Lisa McAbee of Blacksburg; extended family McAbee Trucking, Inc. and B & M Auto Sales; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Sunday, May 22, 2022 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Clay Jones and Mr. Ashby Blakely officiating. Interment will be in the Draytonville Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Down Syndrome Foundation, 17186 Daniel Lane, Eden Prairie, MN 55346.
The family will be at the home of Butch & Lisa McAbee, 111 Andrews Drive, Blacksburg, SC 29702.
