Martha Thompson Obituary

Gaffney, SC - Martha Bessie "Snookie" Thompson, 83, formerly of 305 Hickory Street, passed away on Friday, October 17, 2025 at Peachtree Centre.

Born in Gaffney, she was the daughter of the late Leona Owens Thompson. She retired from Fiber Industries after 30 plus years of service and was a member of Kirby Church. She loved her family and traveling.

Surviving is a sister, Ann Pearson (Bill) of Gastonia; four nephews, Michael Pearson, Kevin Pearson, Bryan Thompson and Mike Gault (Darlene); a special niece, Angel Gault. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Boyce Thompson Jr. and Jimmy Lee "J.L." Thompson and a sister, Mary Gault.

The family will receive friends from 1:00PM until 2:00PM on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 PM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Ashby Blakely officiating. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 1886, Gaffney, SC, 29342.

The family will be at their respective homes.
