Mary Mullinax Obituary
Gaffney, SC - Mary Emily Ballard Mullinax, 87, of 501 Hetty Hill Street, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at Upstate Community Hospice House
Landrum.
Born in Monroe, NC, she was the widow of the late Ezell Mullinax, Sr. and daughter of the late Carl Monroe Ballard and Eva Mae Plyler Ballard. She retired from Timken and was a member of Draytonville Baptist Church. She loved her Lord and family, her fur-baby "Sparky", enjoyed word search puzzles and working in her yard.
Surviving are two sons, Ezell Mullinax, Jr. (Kathy) and Carl Mullinax (Loretta) both of Gaffney; a daughter, Mary Sue Rollins (Ricky) of Gaffney; a sister, Margie Ballard of Barnwell; six grandchildren, Chris Rollins, Michael Rollins, Tabbatha Mullinax, Amber Mullinax, Carla Mullinax (fiancé Wesley Harris) and Holton Guyton (Jessica); great-grandchildren, Courtney Rollins (fiancé D. J. Wilson), Tyler Rollins, Blake Rollins, Wesley Parker (fiancé CC Medley), Tristen Moss, Jonathan Moss, Jase Rollins, Elissa Rollins and Owen Harris; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, David Mullinax, five sisters, Joyce Grubbs, Janice Cheek, Evelyn Coombs, Ruth Burnett, and Vera Klutz and four brothers, Carl Ballard, Jr., Curtis Ballard, Butch Ballard and Bobby Witty.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00PM on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at Frederick Memorial Gardens with Dr. Keith Harrill officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Draytonville Baptist Church, 179 Draytonville Church Road, Gaffney, SC 29340.
The family will be at the home of Ricky & Mary Sue Rollins, 115 Country Club Road, Gaffney, SC 29340.
