Spartanburg, SC - Michael Dwayne Moss Sr., 64, of 33 Somersett Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 17, 2022 at Spartanburg Regional Home.
Born in Gaffney, he was the son of Frances Byars Mabry of Gaffney and the late Eddie Walker Moss and step-son of Larry Mabry of Gaffney. He was a graduate of Gaffney High School, a United States Marine Veteran and retired from construction. He enjoyed sports, fishing and was a basketball referee. He also enjoyed the mountain's, loved to read his bible, loved his children and his grandchildren. Mr. Moss was a member of First Baptist Church.
Surviving is a daughter, Elizabeth Moss Goodenough (Douglas Jr.) of Gaffney; a son, Mikie Moss (Mallory) of Boone, NC; a brother, Eddie Moss (Carol) of Gaffney; a sister, Pam Davis (Doc) of Gaffney; two grandchildren, Emerson Goodenough and Alyssa Goodenough; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was previously married to Cheryl Hughes Moss, and they remained good friends.
The family will receive friends from 1:00PM until 2:00PM on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at Blakely Funeral Home. A memorial service will immediately follow at 2:00PM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Keith Harrill officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 1886, Gaffney, SC, 29342.
The family will be at the home of Elizabeth and Douglas Goodenough, 189 Green Park Drive.
