Patsy "Pat" McConnell

Gaffney, SC - Patsy "Pat" McAbee McConnell, 83, of 3151 Union Highway, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 16, 2026 at Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of the late Charles William McConnell and daughter of the late Joseph C. McAbee and Mary Ivey McAbee. She was a 1960 graduate of Gaffney High School and retired business manager from the public library. She loved her family and was very devoted to them, loved her fur-baby "Slinky", music and playing the piano. She had a great sense of humor, was a great cook, and a very active member of Encounter Church where she served in various activities and leadership roles through the years.

Surviving is a son, Dr. Charles Jeffery McConnell of Douglasville, GA; a daughter, Nancy Jo McConnell of Gaffney; two grandchildren, Laci McConnell Kirby (Chase) and Bryce Cayden McConnell; a great-grandchild, Adaleigha Rosabelle Kirby; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy McAbee Hicks (Jim).

The family will receive friends from 1:00PM until 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 PM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Joey Turner and Reverend Mike McConnell officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
