Gaffney, SC - Phyllis Curtis, 91, died on August 27, 2021. Born in Gaffney, she was the daughter of the late Mary and Dever Turner of Gaffney. She was pre-deceased by her husband, A.L. Curtis and a son, William Michael (Bill) Curtis.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Leigh Senn Weymer (Bill) of Flat Rock, NC and Charlotte Lux of Gaffney and son James (Jim) Curtis of Blacksburg. Also surviving are five grandsons, Shane Senn (Sarah Garber) of Central, Steven Lux of Gaffney, David Lux (Shauna) of Inman, Brett Curtis (Summer) of Gaffney, and Daniel Fegter of Gaffney, two greatgrandsons, CJ and Gabe Senn, and a great-granddaughter, Maddy Bays.
She graduated from Gaffney High School and Central Wesleyan University. She received her Masters degree from Winthrop. She was a Language Arts teacher for 28 years at Pendleton and Gaffney High schools. She served as President of several organizations, Gaffney Junior Woman's Club, Small Fry Foundation, and Friends of the Cherokee County Library. She was a member of Buford Street United Methodist Church in Gaffney.

A memorial service will be held at Buford Street United Methodist Church at 3:00 PM on Friday, September 17, 2021 with Reverend Dave Nichols officiating. Social distancing and masks are requested.
