Gaffney - Ronald Dean "Slim" Wilson, 74, passed away on November 17, 2025 at home. Born on November 10, 1951 to the late Isaac and Ada Ratcliff Wilson, he was the widow of Sybil Jolley.
Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his children, Paula Pierce (Nathan), Gilda Wilson; stepchildren, John Jolley (Bonnie), Stanley Jolley (Penny), Amanda Knowles (Fred); brothers, Doug Wilson (Vacy), Donnie Wilson (Diane); Sisters, Betty Blanton, Gladys Blackwell; grandchildren, Will Taylor, Jessica Taylor, Brooke Taylor, Amy Pierce, Chelsea Pelfrey, Daniel Knowles, Tiffany Jolley; and 3 great-grandsons. Also surviving Ronald is his dog (and best friend), Peanut.
In addition to his wife and parents, Ronald was preceded in death by brothers, Gene Wilson, Paul Wilson, Vernon Wilson; and sister, Rachel Martin.
A Visitation for Mr. Wilson will be held, Wednesday,
November 19th, 2025, from, 6:00pm-7:30, at Gordon Mortuary of Gaffney. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, November 20th, 2025, at 2:00pm, in the Gordon Mortuary of Gaffney Chapel, with Rev. Gregg Martin officiating. Entombment will follow at Frederick Memorial Gardens. Will Taylor, Daniel Knowles, Derrick Wilson, Dalton Wilson, Devin Wilson, Billy Martin, and Daniel Sexton will serve as Pallbearers. Cherokee County School District Maintenance Department will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
The family will be at the home of Gilda Wilson, 643 Buck Shoals Road, Gaffney, SC 29341.
The Wilson family would like to give a special thank you to his caregiver, Cara Whyle Turnage.

My most sincere condolences go out to this family for their loss. Ronnie was a good man and helped anyone he could. He sure did love lil peanut I know she will miss him too. Heaven gained a great one. He will truly be missed by everyone he came in contact with. Prayers for the family. May the lord comfort them in a way that only he can may he bring peace to each and every one of his friends and family members.
