Smyrna, SC - Shirley Luella Leagan Ricker, 87, of 1327 Old Chester Road, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 3, 2025 at Cherokee Medical Center.
Born in Cherokee County, she was daughter of the late Ceafie M. Leagan and Leila Bolton Leagan. She was a graduate of Blacksburg High School and Cleveland Community College, retired from textiles, and was a member of Cherokee Falls Baptist Church. She loved her Lord, her family, her fur-babies, cooking and reading. Shirley wanted the following quote published in her obituary: "I have lived a Christian life and that is what I want remembered about me. I want each member of my family to be saved, live a Christian life and meet me in Heaven".
She is survived by a son, Philip Ricker of Chesnee; a daughter, Lisa Smith of Gaffney; a brother, Junior Leagan of Blacksburg; four grandchildren, Harley Ricker (Corrie), Wesley Ricker, Lacy Teal (Lee) and Haley Ivey; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Willie Ray "Pete" Leagan, Jonathan Leagan and Charlie Leagan and six sisters, Leona Goodson, Evelean Blackwell, Virgie Hambright, Elizabeth Isler, Viola Leagan and Libby Leagan.
Per Shirley's wishes, no services are scheduled.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Cherokee Falls Baptist Church, 109 School Street, Blacksburg, SC 29702.
The family will be at their respective homes.
