Gordon Keller Obituary

Gordon Wayne Keller, Sr.
St. Augustine, FL - Gordon Wayne Keller, Sr. (aka GoGo, Dad, Poppy, Uncle Gordon, BG) age 66, of St. Augustine, Florida went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, February 18, 2021 after courageously fighting cancer.
Gordon was born and raised in St. Augustine, FL. He attended Evelyn Hamblen Elementary, Ketterlinus Jr. High, and graduated from St. Augustine High School. He furthered his education at St. Johns River Community College and the Luther Rice Seminary. He joined the Florida National Guard immediately following high school and served his country from 1972-1978.
In 1973, Gordon married the love of his life, Linda Blalock Keller. He had his general contractor's license and worked for his dad at Keller Construction for almost 18 years. In 1989, he surrendered to the ministry and began working on staff at Calvary Baptist Church with the youth and singles. He was licensed and ordained into the Gospel ministry in 1990. He served as pastor of Parker Road Baptist Church, Gainesville, for thirteen years; First Baptist Church, Branford for four years, and First Baptist Church, Chiefland for nine and a half years. Gordon retired in 2019 and looked forward to spending time with his family. His children and grandchildren brought him great joy. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, fellowshipping, and eating homemade ice cream. His main goal in life, though, was to share Jesus with everyone he met until the day he died.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Keller, Jr., and sister, Nancy. Gordon is survived by his wife of 47 years, Linda Keller; son, Wayne (Kelley) Keller, daughter, Robyn Silcox; grandchildren, Hayden (Alyssa) and Payton Silcox, Ethan and Bethany Keller; his mother, Jean Keller; brother, James (Donna) Keller; sister, Stephanie (Mark) Evans, and his much loved nephews and nieces.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 27, 2021, at Turning Point at Calvary, 3500 State Rd 16, St. Augustine, FL 32092. The family will receive friends from 9:30 am-11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace Community Church, 7040 US 1, St. Augustine, FL 32095 or to the Women on Mission at Turning Point @ Calvary, 3500 St. Rd. 16, St. Augustine, FL 32092.

BG changed my life for the better! I would not be the woman I am today without his Godly influence. I wish I could’ve went on a hunting trip with him like we always joked about! He always text to check in while I was away at college. My family and I will miss him deeply. I hope him and Mema are laughing away in heaven! Love and many prayers to Mrs. Linda and family!

We are shocked and deeply saddened by this news. We speak often of Bro. Gordon and our memories of him at Parker Road Baptist Church. Missy and I wish to offer our prayers and condolences to Ms. Linda, Wayne and Robyn as well as the entire family. I have no doubt that the Keller mansion in Heaven is "rockin'". God Bless You!
