Barbara G. Porter Obituary

Barbara G. Porter passed away Friday, March 7, at the North Georgia hospital in Gainesville. She was married to James C. Porter for 53 years and survived by three children Kathy Porter, Jim Porter and Karen Weber. The grandchildren are Alicia Henderson, Katelyn Weber and Leilani Porter; and one great-grandson, Nolan Henderson. She also has Ralph Grizzard, brother; and brother-in-laws Larry Chastain and Ben Wilson.
Barbara was a member of Saint Mary and Saint Martha Episcopal Church, where she was a member of the Altar Guild and Daughters of the King. She was a loving wife and mother. She always put her family first. She had many friends and many referred to her as "sweet Barbara." She and her family were natives of Atlanta and she lived in North DeKalb County for 32 years and the last 14 years in Hoschton, Ga., with her husband Jim. She will be greatly missed by all. She had a true faith in the Lord and is with him now.
The service will be at Saint Martha and Saint Mary Episcopal Church of Bethany, located at 4346 Ridge Road, Buford, Ga., on Saturday, March 15, 2014, at 11 a.m. with interment in the Memorial Gardens. Following the memorial service, there will be a reception in the Parish Hall. Church phone number, 770-271-4067.
