Betty Pilgrim Dale Obituary
The Rev. Mike Taylor will officiate. Interment will be in Alta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mason & Ward Funeral Home.
A lifelong resident of Hall County, Mrs. Dale was a member of New Holland Baptist Church and was a 1944 graduate of Gainesville High School. She and her husband where the original founders and owners of the Double D Burger in Rabbittown and they also ran the Canteen at New Holland Mill.
She was preceded in death by her by her parents, R.O. and Eufaula Aiken Pilgrim; and her husband, E.C. Dale, to whom she was married for nearly 60 years before his death in February of 2007.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 1841 Clifton Road NE, Atlanta, GA 30329; or Community Service Center, Meals on Wheels, 430 Prior St. SE, Gainesville, GA 30501.
Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Judy Spain of Gainesville and Candis and Joe Sledge of Houston/Kingwood, Texas; sons and daughter-in-law, Jason Dale of Flowery Branch and Bruce and Lisa Dale of Clayton; brother, Wayne Leon Pilgrim of Sanford, Fla.; grandchildren, Jeff and Daye Piotrowski, Tyler Dale, Anabel Dale, Ashleigh Free and Jillian Taylor.

Hey Judy, Candis, Jason, and Bruce!
What a blessing your parents have been - they've left a lasting imprint on their community via the Double D Burger in Rabbittown; their service at New Holland Baptist Church; your dad's valor at Pearl Harbor - and how they two of them loved you and raised you! With Paul, we can say, "I thank my God in all my remembrance of you" (E.C. and Betty). We're all better b/c of the way they lived their lives! And now, on to glory!

So sorry to hear about Mrs. Dale. Her and her Husband were the first to lease our building for the Original Double D in Rabbittown. Mrs. Dale was a very special lady. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Judy, Candice and Family:
Just want to say how very sorry I am to hear of Ms. Betty's passing. I did not learn of Bert's death until days after his funeral...
THEY are together again, for eternity so be consoled by that. Just know that I will keep ALL of you in my prayers.
