Cora Belle Hammond Obituary
Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011, at the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with internment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The Revs. Clack Stubbs, Stacy Phillips, J.L. Yopp and Gerald Atkins will officiate. The family will receive friends on Monday, Oct. 10, 2011, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hammond was born on June 18, 1936, in Habersham to the late Elizabeth Black Trotter and Guy Trotter. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Mrs. Hammond was preceded in death by her husband, Marcus Cleburn Hammond; her parents; her brother and sister-in-law, Cecil and Bonnie Trotter; brother, Randall Trotter; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Betty Trotter; brother and sister-in-law; Jerald and Geneva Trotter; sister and brother-in-law, Christine and Dewey Palmer; and brother-in-law, Ronnie Bangley.
Mrs. Hammond is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and David Martin of Oakwood; son, Michael Cleburn Hammond of Gainesville; granddaughter and husband, Dana Lynn and C. Luke Burruss of Gainesville; granddaughter and husband, Dawn Martin and Andy Cantrell of Buford; granddaughter and husband, Amber Hammond and Justin Kelley of Columbia, S.C.; granddaughter and husband, Diannah Martin and Josh Wilson of Gainesville; sister, Ophelia Bangley of Monroe; sister-in-law Ruth Trotter of Gainesville; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Memorial Park Funeral Home, 2030 Memorial Park Road, Gainesville, GA, 30504 is in charge of arrangements.
