Estelle M. Carter Obituary

Estelle M. Carter, 85, of Braselton passed away Friday Dec. 24, 2010, at her residence following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday Dec. 28, 2010, at Mercy Baptist Church at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Everest Carlile and the Rev. Gary Carlyle officiating. Interment will follow in Liberty Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at her residence Sunday and Monday.

Ms. Carter was born Feb. 26, 1925, to the late Felt McDaniel and Mattie Maddox McDaniel. She was retired from Wayne Poultry and of the Baptist faith. Ms. Carter is preceded in death by her husband, James Carter; sons, Garnett, Cecil, Willis, Ray, Wilburn, and Robert Carter; daughters, Edith Abernathy, Susie Brock and Ethel Carter.

Ms. Carter is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, William and Robin Carter of Braselton; daughter, Edna Carter of Ila; daughter and son-in-law, Roger and Sheryl Carlile of Braselton; 35 grandchildren; 71 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren.
