Helen M. Oliaro Obituary

Helen M. Oliaro passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, surrounded by her sons. She was born on Dec. 21, 1922, in Gary, Ind. She grew up in Chicago, Ill., and moved to Gainesville in 1988.

She was a fervent and devout practitioner of the Catholic faith. She volunteered much of her time at Lanier Park Hospital, Northeast Georgia Medical Center and St. Michael's Church in Gainesville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Adam F. Oliaro; and is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Barb, Sante Fe, N.M.; Jack and Maureen, Gainesville; Jim, Berwyn, Ill.; Jerry and Sue, Sacramento, Calif.; and Jeff and Kim, Gainesville. She had 11 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

Helen donated her body to Emory Medical School. A memorial service will be held at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Cumming in the next few weeks on a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Helen's name to the Good Shepherd Catholic Church Building Fund.
