Joan was an inspiration to me. Her talent and energy and compassion were some of her traits that inspired me. Since I lived in Hilton Head and now Charleston, I would so look forward to seeing Joan and Dean when I visited my brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Crystal. I will so miss the camping trip we had planned in October. She was simply amazing and I am a better person for having known her.

Joan you will be so missed. The light around the sailing club is already dimmer without your presence. Every time I wear a hat I will think of you and the many good times we sat on the point, out in the sun with our hats and jewelry. I know you are up there playing away. We will meet again one day......

Joan is now in heaven with Jesus and playing her beautiful organ music for all the angels. I know my mom and Greg's mom are loving it. Joan you will truely be missed by us. We are so happy that we knew you. I will always remember our talks of God, church, your organ learning days, and the way you opened your church to our yoga classes. Know that we will always be there for Dean.

I can see her smiling face in my mind, I can hear her voice in my ears, and I will miss that. She was a very kind and giving soul, all of us will miss her. I hope everyone is as lucky as I am to have learned one last thing from her, which is to hold onto everyone you love as much as you can, and share every moment possible. I don't think there could be a more important lesson to learn. Thank you Joan for gracing our lives, the rest of us have to hold onto each other until we see you again.

This is such a great photo, Joan was such a wonderful person, bright, considerate, friendly, talented, as Billy Joel said "Only the good die young." There aren't any words to express how we feel and how much she will be missed. Our hearts are so heavy but our memories are clear and long lasting.

Joan was a mentor to me when I became involved with the LLSC Board and as I moved into the Commodore position, she guided me though the maze. She was always in control and she could always be counted on to be level headed and think soundly. To me she was one person no one spoke ill. I will miss you Joan.

And so many more wonderful things could be said of her:
For all that she did for others, her everlasting smile, her forte for planning, her enjoyment of many diverse interests, committment to friends, house always open, table always full, endless energy, passion for filling in what was needed, my mind wanders on at the endless list. She will be missed dearly. Cherished by many, loved by all. We love you Joansy and will be there for Dean!

Joan will be greatly missed. Both Allison and I enjoyed the company of Dean and Joan. Our prayers to her family and may her legacy be one for many to follow.
