J.T. Wofford Obituary

J.T. Wofford, age 86, of Oakwood passed away on Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010, at the Oaks at Limestone Nursing Home following an extended illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 26, 2010, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Steve Fenlon and the Rev. Edwin Taylor will officiate. The family will receive friends on Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010, from 3 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Wofford was born Sept. 22, 1924, in Gainesville to the late Hendrix Wofford and Minnie Hill Wofford. He served in the U.S. Army and was employed as a carpenter. Mr. Wofford was preceded in death by his parents and was a member of First Baptist Church in Oakwood.

Mr. Wofford is survived by his wife, Edna Leckie Wofford of Gainesville; his son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Carole Wofford of Gainesville; his daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Lenny Dec of Braselton; grandsons, Brad Wofford of Duluth and Lee McDonald of Oakwood; granddaughter, Amber McDonald of Oakwood; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial Park Funeral Home, 2030 Memorial Park Road, Gainesville, GA 30504 is in charge of arrangements.
