Spencer Walden Jr.

Spencer Walden Jr., 63, passed away at his home surrounded by family on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, in Snellville, Ga. He was born April 1, 1950, to Spencer and Mary Walden in White County, Ga. On Sept. 16, 1967, he married the love of his life, Janet Walden in Walhalla, S.C. Spencer worked 38 years at Steel, LLC in Scottdale, Ga. Spencer enjoyed spending time with his family, working in his yard and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Janet; daughter, Hope Payne and son-in-law, Bob Payne, Lucas, Texas; son, Jeff Walden and daughter-in-law, Tammy Walden, Dunwoody, Ga.; grandchildren, Lauren and Spencer Payne; sisters, Helen Hicks, Cleveland, Ga.; and Ellen Stephens, Gainesville, Ga.; aunt, Dorothy Walden, Cleveland, Ga.; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and sisters, Martha Wilkes, Alice Standridge and Patricia Ellis; and uncle, Thomas Walden.
A Celebration of life will be held, Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, at 1 p.m. at the Tom M. Wages Snellville Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends on Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Lustgarten Foundation via their website www.curepc.org.
