I was one year ahead of him at Emory & Henry. Gary was an extremely nice person. I never heard him use even one word of profanity. He was always cheerful and everything he did was with enthusiasm and to the best of his ability. The world is a little bit less happy of a place without him. He will be missed.

My heart goes out to Coach Horton’s family. When I think back on my time in Grayson County, Coach Horton was the center of those memories. He needs a score keeper for the wrestling team so he taught me how and I traveled with them and did just that. Now that I have friend’s whose children wrestle and I get to watch them, I have always thought of a coach Horton with fond memories because I know what’s going on in that sport! His room was right down from my locker and I loved to go see him every morning. Always greeted with a smile and he loved to talk about his family and show off pictures of how babies. Heaven gained an awesome angel!

Prayers for Gary's family. Gary & I were very close friends in my teens & early 20's. I loved him like a brother. I will always cherish the memories of us attending church together, attending summer youth camp, playing softball, and competing in countless hours of playing pinball at every place we could find. My heart is broken but I know I will see him again in heaven some day. Gary's was and always will be a special, first class person & beloved friend.
