Taylor Cummings Obituary
Taylor was born in Galax, Va., on Oct. 25, 1995, to Ken Lamar and Tammy Leigh Dixon Cummings.
Survivors include her parents of Galax, Va.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Shannon and Jay Alderman and Lindsay and Jason Gertin; a brother, Shane Cummings; maternal grandparents, Doris and Allen Taylor; paternal grandparents, Frank and Judy Cummings, all of Galax, Va.; very special nieces and nephew, Caleb Gertin, Madison Gertin, Sydney Alderman and Addie Alderman.
The funeral service was held Sunday, May 16, 2021, at 2 p.m. in the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Ronald Bowman officiating. The family received friends Sunday from noon until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. Burial was private for the family only.

So sorry for your loss. I had Taylor in First Grade and was there for her graduation from high school. She was a very good student and a precious child. She always had a smile on her face and love to give and receive hugs. I was blessed to have her in my class. I never forgot her.

I am so sorry about the loss of Taylor - it is exactly that; a loss. We lost a beautiful, caring, bright soul here on earth but Heaven gained an angel. I met Taylor through a friend of mine, Julie, and i am so thankful for that. She was SO funny and we just clicked, so fast! She had that impact on everyone she met - funny, bubbly, and kind. Before I moved away from the Galax area, I have the absolute pleasure of getting to work with Taylor at the Hampton Inn in Galax, although she was not there very long before deciding to join the Creek Bottom family, the few months I did have with her as a coworker were phenomenal, it took no time for me to figure out what type of happy person she was. She was so loveable and had such an infectious laugh, she was easily my favorite coworker. The earth will mourn having lost such a bright light. So, extremely and deeply sorry for the family's loss. We are deeply saddened by Taylor’s passing. She was such a bright light in the lives of many. It was such a joy to get to see her grow up. Taylor had such a love for life, especially for her family.
