Jerry was my hero. When his big brother Bill got a football scholarship to UTenn, the family moved to Knoxville, Jerry, a senior at GHS, lived with us.
He was the QB on the football team, but never, ever had a big head about it.
He was, even then, in love with Carolyn McAdam, and the two of them were a sight to behold.
So, #10 is gone. I'll never forget him.
