Anita McDowell Obituary
Anita was fiercely independent, prideful, witty, welcoming, and loving to all. She spoke her mind freely with a generous heart and spirit. Mom and dad owned and operated the C&M Dairy in Philipsburg. Mom was a waitress and the boss!
She was a skilled hunter and fisherman. As an athlete she bowled, played baseball, tennis, and golf. In later years she and dad operated the Country Air golf range in Woodland. Mom was also known to work a mean word search. She was an avid card player.
Mom married Donald McDowell in 1950. Their union produced three children: Janice Smith of Fort Worth Texas; Drew of Woodland; and Mark of Woodland. Mark died in March 2023. The couple had four grandchildren: John Smith of Fort Worth Texas, Nicki McDowell of Woodland, Melanie Croyle of Sandy Ridge, and Dr. Zachary McDowell of Phoenix Arizona. Their six great-grandchildren include Maguire and Maclaine Smith of Fort Worth, Texas; Allan and Eric Myers of Woodland; Ethan and Elliott Croyle, of Sandy Ridge.
Anita was the first child to be born to Paul and Leona Michaels Coudriet. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Don, her son Mark and brother Duane Coudriet. She is survived by her daughter Janice and her husband Richard; her son, Drew, her grandsons, John, and Zachary; her granddaughters, Nicki, and Melanie, plus her six great grandchildren. Her brothers, Sheldon Coudriet of Clearfield, and Lynn Coudriet of Morrisdale; plus, her sister Sharon Farmer of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia also survive our mother.
Services for Anita will be held Monday, September 11, 2023 at Gethsemane United Methodist Church in Allport, at 1:00 PM with Pastor Julia Piper officiating.
Family and friends will be received from 11:00 AM at the church, until the time of service.
Interment will be in Palestine Cemetery, Morrisdale, RD.

So sorry to hear about your mother, I work for your mom and dad at the C and M Dairy probably 1972 or 1973, They were great people to work for. I remember Drew and Mark working there sometimes too. Along with Drew and Marks grandpa.Again so sorry to hear, Edie (Cornman) Nelson

this woman, Anita .. she was one of the first women that I met at Morrisdale church and I loved her since the first day I met her. She was a wonderful, glowing woman. She would make me smile just seeing her and I had times at ladies golf with her and just @ church n caroling ..she will be truly missed and Drew,. I´m always here for you. Call me anytime. she was an angel. There´s so much to say about her, but I will truly miss her immensely farewell n RIP Anita.

Prayers to the family. [ Sadly Missed.] I've known this family almost my whole life. Great family, and DON, He was the Funniest. DREW, He isn't far behind for being funny. Anita, She to was an ABSOLUTELY Great person. She will be missed.

Both Mr. & Mrs. McDowell were welcoming people whether it be at their course or at a function of the grandchildren. I remember the mornings we chatted while waiting at the bus stop when she brought her grandson. She will be missed but with her true love. My condolences and prayers goes to the family while they share the memories and grievance since her passing.
