Brenda D. Hickman

Brenda D. Hickman, age 71 of DuBois, PA was promoted to heaven on Friday, March 6, 2026.

Born on March 14, 1954 in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late Fredrick "Donald" and Laura " Lorraine" (Smith) Smith.

On June 22, 1973, she married her husband of 52 years, Larry A. Hickman. He survives.

Brenda was the owner and operator of Brenda's Day Care. For over 30 years, she cared for, loved, and nurtured hundreds of children from her home. It was a "job" that she truly enjoyed.

Brenda loved decorating her home, cross word puzzles, and ocean vacations with her family. She would most like to be remembered as a woman who deeply loved her family and as a woman of strong faith and devotion to her Lord and Savior.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by 4 children (Lisa Farrell and her husband Shane, Brian Hickman and his wife Rebecca, Jason Hickman, and Matthew Hickman (Jessica Shepler), all of DuBois, PA), 11 grandchildren (Chase, Nicholas, Nathan, Benjamin, Carter, Noah, Sarah, Jaelyn, Ty John, Brodie, and Jace), 3 brothers (Terry and Bradley Smith, both of Falls Creek, PA, and Kevin Smith and his wife Nancy of DuBois, PA) 2 sisters (Dawn Popson of Falls Creek, PA and Darla Logan of Philipsburg, PA), Raigan Ford, whom she helped raise, and numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her 2 sisters, Beverly Carlson and Tracey Minert.

There will be no public visitation and private family services will be held.

A celebration of life for Brenda will be held at the Treasure Lake Church on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at 2 p.m.

Burial will take place in the Smithtown Cemetery.
