Dawn Marie Reed

Dawn Marie (Mostyn) Reed Age 57 was unexpectedly welcomed into her eternal rest on the morning of Saturday October 25, 2025.

She is the daughter of Edward and Bernadine (Pollock) Mostyn of Hawk Run.

Dawn loved her rescue dogs, who were her everything. She felt strongly about her rescues and felt that she could rescue them, but who rescued who, was the main question. With her unexpected death her 4 rescue pups were returned to the SPCA Society. Her wishes would be someone will adopt her rescues.

She grew up in Hawk Run attended West Branch Schools and graduated from Mansfield University of Pennsylvania and was employed by Weis Market as Assistant Front End Manager for 31 years.

She enjoyed the camaraderie with her coworkers. She was an extremely devoted employee who was called to work on frequent occasions as they needed her. She enjoyed her work relationships. She liked to bake with her mom and would frequently bring in baked goodies for the coworkers. Her laughter could be heard in the grocery department frequently.


She attended Saints Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church in Hawk Run where she grew up. Was active with the Choir there. Once that Church closed, she has since attended Saints Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church in Philipsburg.

At the time of her unexpected death, she was married to Alan Reed of Philipsburg for 31 years.

Besides her parents she is survived by numerous cousins both in area and out of state who she would keep in touch with.

Friends and family will be received on Monday, November 3, 2025, from 6-8:00 PM at Strange and Weaver Funeral Service in Morrisdale and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Saints Peter and Paul RC Church, 400 South 4th Street, Philipsburg, with Father Mathias Rendon, O.F.M.

She will be buried in the St Peter and Paul's Catholic Cemetery, Hawk Run.
