Margaret Bakaysa Obituary

Margaret Bakaysa, 87, of Curwensville and formerly of Cleveland, OH passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at Christ the King Manor in DuBois after a short illness.

Born March 23, 1936 in Thompson Town, she was the daughter of Paul and Mary (Hook) Bakaysa. She worked in the banking industry and was an officer at numerous banking institutions.

She is survived by a sister-in-law Peggy Bakaysa of Curwensville, special friends Susan and Greg Wilson of Chicago, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was the last member of her generation.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers Joseph "Joe", Robert, Paul, John and Michael Bakaysa, 2 sisters Pauline Bakaysa, and Mary "Honey" Rossi.

Funeral Services for Margaret Bakaysa will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc of Curwensville on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 1 PM with Mr. Gary Jewart officiating. Interment will follow in the Watts Cemetery.

Friends and family will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 11 AM until the time of services at 1 PM.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Curwensville United Methodist Church, 602 State Street, Curwensville, PA 16833.
