Richard Coudriet Obituary

Richard F. "Dick" Coudriet, 86, of Philipsburg, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2025, at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.

Richard was not alone when he entered this world on February 26, 1939. He was accompanied by a twin brother, who was named David. This came as a great surprise to the boys' parents, Earl F. and Lena (Jamison) Coudriet, as they were not expecting twins...

He was a graduate of the former Cooper Township High School.

Dick was married on June 6, 1964, at the Wallaceton Methodist Church, to the former Joyce Marie Good. Earlier this month, they celebrated 61 years of marriage.

Early in his career, Dick was briefly employed with the Pennsylvania State University, State College. He then accepted a position as a general sales manager for the former J.W. Pritchard Co. Following his time with J.W. Pritchard, he worked as a fuel / petroleum manager for the former R.T. Merryman Trucking Co. Later in his career, he accepted a position as a fuel division manager for the former Kephart Trucking Co. and remained with the company until his retirement.

Among Dick's many interests in life, he enjoyed showing his Corvette at car shows; four-wheeling and he was an avid golfer. However, his true passion and reward in life was his God-given talent for playing the drums. He started out playing with the "Pete Wasilko Band." He was also a member of the "The Polka Revolution;" "Jim Knepp & Rejoyce;" and for twenty years, he played with "The Vagabonds." Unfortunately, Dick suffered a crippling stroke six years ago that prematurely ended an otherwise accomplished musical career as a drummer.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents; his sister and her husband (brother-in-law), Alice (Heaton) and V. Hoover Rydberg; his twin brother, David L. Coudriet; his father and mother-in-law, Ray D. and Erma (Williams) Good; and the husband of his niece (Janice), Dave Clyde.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Joyce; a sister-in-law, Eva Mae Coudriet; a nephew, David Coudriet and his wife, Cheryl; a niece, Janice Clyde; a nephew, Douglas Rydberg; a niece, Kristi Gedeon and her husband, Bob; and numerous great nieces, great-nephews and other extended family members. His two beloved Persian cats, Daisy and Barnacle, will miss him very much.

Dick was a loyal member and Elder of the New Beginnings Baptist Church, Osceola Mills.

The funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at 2:00 pm, at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 719 E. Spruce St., Philipsburg, with Rev. Timothy Richmond, officiating.

The family will receive guests at the funeral home on Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 4 to 8 pm; and on Sunday, from Noon until the time of the service.

Private interment will be at the Historic Crown Crest Cemetery, Hyde.

Memorial contributions may be made in Dick's memory to: New Beginnings Baptist Church, 183 Logan St., Osceola Mills, PA 16666; Clearfield County SPCA, 275 21st., St., Clearfield, PA 16830 or to Second Chance Strays, 1101 13th. Ave., Altoona, PA 16601.
