Rita Canan Obituary

Rita M. Canan, age 88 of DuBois, PA died Monday, August 11, 2025 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital.

Born on March 29, 1937 in Luthersburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Emory and Mossilene (Woods) Miles.

On June 29, 1975, she married Robert L. Canan. He preceded her in death on October 5, 2012.

Rita had worked as a Lab Technician at Maple Avenue Hospital for many years.

She was member of Smithtown Community Church.

Rita is survived by her daughter in law (Missy Wilson of DuBois, PA) and one son (Kent Wilson of Tahlequah, OK), two brothers (James Miles of Luthersburg, PA and Vaughn Miles of Florida), two grandchildren ( Megan Harmon and Macey Dinger), and six great grandchildren (Riley, Colby, Gannen, Jase, Andria and Lainey).

She was preceded in death by one son (Mark Wilson) and two sisters (Marion Dush and Ruth McCauslin).

There will be no public visitation, and all services are private.

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
