Arnold G. Ramirez, 94, of Gardena, California passed away on May 20, 2021 at his home after a long illness. He was born in Gardena, California on April 3, 1927, son of Dionicio and Josephina Ramirez. He was widowed to Anna Ramirez at the time of his death. Arnold is survived by his son, Tom Ramirez, his two daughters, Barbara Pierce (spouse Dale Pierce), Judy Sutton (spouse John Sutton). He is also survived by his three grandchildren, Christina Huerta (spouse Joshua Huerta), Daniel Pierce (spouse Veronica Pierce), Joanne Rinehart (spouse Daniel Rinehart). Arnold was also blessed with five great grandchildren, Helaina Escobar, Isaac Glover, Isabella Glover, Matthew Pierce, and River Rinehart, and numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Arnold graduated from Gardena High School, and then joined the U.S. Army. In 1949, he married his love, Anna Montes. Arnold worked for over 40 years as a carpenter and cabinet maker and stair builder for Taylor Mill & Stair Company in Gardena. Arnold was very committed to his community of Gardena. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Gardena Elks Lodge #1919, Gardena Sister City Association, and played baseball for the Gardena Merchants. He was a lifetime resident of Gardena for 94 years. He and his wife Anna were also recipients of Gardenas Wall of Fame. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, June 28, 2021 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 1050 W. 163rd Street Gardena. Private Interment at Holy Cross at a later date.
