Forever in Our Hearts
We are truly heartbroken with the loss of our beloved father, George Mitsuo Takahashi born Sept. 1, 1930 in Honolulu Hawaii. Raised in Moiliili, he met the love of his life Valerie Hanako Kishimoto at McKinley High school and they were married 68 years. George served in the Korean war and was awarded a Purple Heart. He obtained a degree in Electrical Engineering at The Milwaukee School of Engineering and received Valedictorian honors. George and Val settled in California where George pursued an exciting career in the aeronautical industry, including an Apollo mission.
His passion for singing and playing Hawaiian and Japanese music was lifelong. He played guitar, sang and entertained for many years with the Chidori band (San Jose CA), and "The Drifters" (Los Angeles CA).
He is preceded in death by wife Valerie, and survived by daughters Carol Takahashi, Iris (Shannon) Courage, Jennie (Jeff) Bader, and six grandchildren Aimee (Eric) Heikkila, Michael Safko, Jonathan (Celena) Courage, Casey Courage, Leland Bader, Deanna Bader, and great grandson Parker Heikkila. He will be missed dearly. Your thoughts, love and remembrances are warmly appreciated.
Thank you, The Takahashi Family
