Austin Farris Obituary
His funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017, at Salem Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Andy Royals and Rev. Lanny Cook officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:45 p.m. on Sunday prior to the service at the church.
Austin was born Oct. 2, 1996, in Gaston County to Darren Ray and Selina Cook Farris. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Sherlon Cook; his paternal grandmother, Barbara Farris; his aunt, Shelley Cook; and his uncle, Eric Farris. Austin was ordained to preach the gospel of the Lord. He held numerous positions in various churches, preaching and playing music.
He is survived by his parents, Darren and Selina C. Farris, of the home; one brother, Seth Farris, of the home; his maternal grandmother, Mary Cook, of Vale; and his paternal grandfather, Ray Farris, of Dallas.
Memorials may be made to Salem Baptist Church, 1982 Salem Church Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092; or to Carolinas Healthcare Foundations, ATTN: Carolinas Kids Cancer Research Fund, 208 East Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28203.
Warlick Funeral Home is serving the Farris family.

Dear Darren, Selina & Seth: Words never seem to be enough during times like this. Today, when I think of Austin I would love to be seeing what he is seeing. He is very much alive in his eternal home with his Lord & Savior. He just transferred from his earthly home to his eternal home. I believe he has joined the "Great Cloud of Witnesses" and is cheering you all on through your journey here on earth. Continued prayers for your beautiful family.

It's so hard to understand but we know God has the Perfect plan. Austin did have a Good Friday-- always following after Jesus. I can just imagine him and the Heavenly Choir. Love and prayersâ¤.

it says on the top of this page if you need help to find the right words click here! I am not sure their are any words that would make this time any easier ! I am glad I had the pleasure of meeting your'e young man his strength and courage touched me this I will not forget ! I'm am Greatly saddened by your'e loss no child or young man should ever have to go through what your'e son has ! And hopefully one day they will find a cure for this deadly illness so that no one else will go through it ! I hope you will find comfort in that Austins pain is no gone and he is in a better place looking down and watching over all of us ! May god bless your'e family and help you with the pain of your'e loss !
