Bill Barber Obituary

GASTONIA - Billy Kenneth Barber Sr., 81, died Oct. 5, 2010, at home.

He was born in Gaston County on Jan. 3, 1929, to the late Mr. and Mrs. P. S. Barber.

A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home Chapel, Bessemer City with the Rev. Roger Parsons officiating.

Visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park

Bill served in Germany after WWII with the United States Army and retired from the Gastonia Main Branch United States Postal Service. Bill was a devoted grandfather of Logan and Ragan.

Survivors include her son, Chris Barber and wife Jenny of Gastonia; grandchildren, Logan and Ragan Barber.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother: Billy Kenneth Barber Jr.

He was the youngest of twelve children who all predeceased him.

Pallbearers will be Phillip Hardin, Raymond Standridge, Steve Dobbins, Larry Milstead, Michael Covington and Jim Beck

Honorary pallbearers will be Logan Barber and Steven Covington.
