David Abernathy Obituary
A private personal service for Gloria, April and David was held on Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010.
A memorial service for family and friends will be held 4 p.m. Friday at Bethlehem Church, S. New Hope Road, Gastonia, in the Worship Center – Room 121.
Mr. Abernathy was formerly employed with John S. Clark Construction Company in Mount Airy and was an avid sportsman and fisherman. He also loved to play his guitar.
Also surviving are his mother, Carlene Roberts of Gastonia; his brother, Ronnie Abernathy and family of Winston-Salem; his sisters, Cathy Barrett and family of San Jose, Calif., Brenda Rhodes and family, Crystal Abernathy and family and Pam Wall and family, all of Gastonia.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Abernathy's name to the American Diabetes Association, 2711 Middlesburg Drive, Suite 312, Co-lumbia, SC 29204.
Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel is assisting the Abernathy family.
