Hoyle Wright Obituary

SHELBY - Hoyle Hoyte Wright, 78, of The Columns, died Friday, May 1, 2009, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.

Born July 22, 1930, in Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Clemmie McCoy Wright and Nutrice Novella Greene Wright.

He was the pressroom manager for the Shelby Daily Star, where he worked for 37½ years. A lifetime member of Fallston Baptist Church, he was church teller and a member of the Joy Club. He also served as a former deacon chairman, Sunday school director and an RA leader. Wright was a gradu-ate of Fallston High School and a member of the 1949 Flying Five Championship Basketball Team.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

The funeral will be 4 p.m. Sunday at Fallston Baptist Church with the Rev. David Blanton officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.

A visitation will be from 1:30 to 3:15 p.m. Sunday at Stamey Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be mad to Fallston Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 116, Fallston, NC 28042.
