Jeremy Barber Obituary
He was a native of Gaston County, born Aug. 2, 1988 to Reggie Scott Barber and Donna Helms Sides.
Jeremy was a 2006 graduate of South Point High School. He was a loving husband, father, and son, and worked at Carolina Machine Works as a machinist.
His passion was his son and spending time fishing and playing ball with him.
Jeremy was survived by his loving wife, Amber White Barber; his precious son, Rylan Cole Barber; his father, Reggie Scott Barber and wife Christine; his mother Donna Helms Sides and husband Gene; sister, Shanna Hope Barber; grandparents Sheila Helms, Charles Helms, Marie Barber and Grandmaw Jo; step-brother Tyler Matthews; step-sisters Heather Sides, Briana, Shannan, and Emma; father and mother-in-law, Robert Michael and Crystal White; sister-in-law, Brittany White Woolard, and husband Bryan, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 2, 2013 at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home.
Celebration of Life service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at New Life Baptist Church, Stanley, with the Rev. Bo Osborne officiating
Burial will be at Gaston Memorial Park with the Releasing of the Doves.
Memorials may be made to New Life Baptist Church, 527 N. Buckoak Street, Stanley, NC 28164.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Matthews, Justin Childers, Bryan Woolard, Travis Hollis, Joey Dunn, Taylor Smith, Ben McPherson and Derrick Kramer.

Im so sorry for your loss, i just heard about what happened. Jeremy was a good friend and a loving person. He always knew how to cheer you up when you was having a bad day and through high school he was an amazing friend and always had your back no matter what. Amber, while I never had the pleasure of meeting your husband, Jeremy, I could always tell he was a wonderful husband & father by the way you lit up when you talked about your "boys". I couldn't bear to come today and say goodbye. Life got so busy. I went off to college and then got married and moved away. You got married and had a precious little boy. Life got busy. I just cant believe you're really gone. Being with your mom and Amber these past few days has opened my eyes to a new love.
