Lance Kirkland Obituary
In addition to his parents, he leaves behind grandparents, Andrew L. Kirkland Sr, Debra J. Kirkland, Patricia M. Ford, and Michael Thompson Sr; aunts Deedra Kirkland and Quanieshia Dailey; uncles Andrew L. Kirkland Jr, Bryan A. Kirkland and Michael Thompson Jr.
A service to celebrate the life of Lance will be held noon Saturday at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Belmont. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Angel Bows, 317 Alexix High Shoals Rd, Dallas, NC 28034. Please reference "Lance Kirkland."
Woodlawn Funeral Home, Mount Holly is serving the family.
To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

To my baby cousin I'm so glad I was able to spend 6 years with you. Even though you were only with us for a short time you left a lifetime of memories behind. I wish you could have spent more time with Kayla, I know she would have had a ball with you. I'll miss your smile and vibrant personality. You were truly one of a kind and you will be greatly missed. I remember seeing his precious face every morning when I dropped my son off at Luv for kidz daycare. My son Christian would come home everyday with a story about him and Lance and what they did at school that day. I just found out from my older boys that attend Ida rankin of his passing and I broke down into tears. I am praying so hard for your family, and I know that God will give you the strenghth you need, he doesnt put more on us than we can bare. Lance was simply an angel passing through. He has shown not only our small community but all over that angels are real. He touched so many lives. I will never forget that perfect little smile in the mornings, or the laughter that he brought my son Christian. We will continue to laugh like Lance and keep his memory alive. For we shall not die but live to rejoice in the works of the Lord! Psalms 118:17

This past December I was at the Ida Rankin Christmas Play and spotted the most adorable little boy with plaid pajamas in the front row. I commented to my daughter and was told who he was and of his condition. I was so sorry to learn of Lance' passing. I didn't know your son or family, but I lost my little boy at the age of 6 in 1990. I just want to say my heart and prayers go out to you. No parent should have to bury a child, but you know it is not for us to question God's plan. I try to look at it like this, there are no tears or pain in heaven so he wins. Another little Angel entered the gates of Heaven right into God arms.

The birth of a child is God's unselfish way of lending us an Angel and sometimes God realizes that some Angels are too good for this earth and must be called home. Lance touched my life as well as Garrett's in so many ways. He was truly a special child, and I feel so honored to have been a part of his life. His contagious smile was a direct reflection of what wonderful parents he had.
