Leon McDaniel Obituary
Mr. McDaniel was born Oct. 15, 1938, in Leesburg, Ala., to the late John and Agnes McDaniel.
He is also preceded in death by his brother Charlie and a dear friend Doug McSwain. Leon was a well known softball player in the 60's and 70's. He began playing for the Smyra Softball Team and also played for Pharr Yarns, Howard's Furniture, Belmont Moose Lodge and the Gastonia Heating & Air Softball Teams. He will be greatly missed by all his friends and family.
Survivors include his daughter Susie and personnel friends Ronnie Payne and Thad Malinawski and several nieces and nephews and also his loving pets, Brody, Midnite, Callico and Seabiscuit.
A gathering of friends will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Benson Funeral & Cremation Services, 101 Oak Grove St., Mt. Holly.
Inurnment will be held privately.
