Mary Mauldin Obituary

LINCOLNTON - Mary Estelle Lail Mauldin, 78, of 3139 Gastonia Highway, died March 19, 2011.
She was born June 5, 1932, in Gaston County to the late Cletus and Leona Mae Reynolds Lail. She was retired from Mohican Mills.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one stepdaughter, Fleeta Mauldin; three sisters, Shirley Brittain, Faye Kirkpatrick and Annie Rash; and one brother, Roy Lail.
Survivors include her husband, Lester Mauldin Jr. of the home; three sons, Gary Reid Abernathy of Las Vegas, Nev., Danny Steven Abernathy of Summerville, S.C., Cletus Scott Abernathy of Lincolnton; two stepdaughters, Leslie Gayle Hull of Lincolnton, Patricia Faye Clark of Albemarle; two brothers, Cletus Lail Jr. of Cherryville, Bruce Lail of Lincolnton; two sisters, Peggy Owens of High Point, Terry Slaughter of Cherryville; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Southside Baptist Church, with the Rev. Doug McClain officiating. The viewing will be held 30 minutes prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at Warlick Funeral Home in Lincolnton.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Lincoln County, 107 N. Cedar St., Lincolnton, NC 28092.
Warlick Funeral Home in Lincolnton is serving the family.
