Nellie Jonas Obituary
A native of Gaston County, she was the daughter of the late Nathan Henry and Lizzie Mae Hamilton Fox.
She always loved music and loved to sing, so we know that she is happy singing with the angels in Heaven and being reunited with the love of her life, Paul Jonas. She was a charter member of North Belmont Church of God and served the Lord faithfully throughout her life. She will be truly missed by her family, neighbors, and all who had an opportunity to know her.
A funeral service will be held noon Saturday at North Belmont Church of God with the Revs. Carl Overton, A.M. Stephens Jr. and Jack Fox officiating.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Gardens, Mount Holly.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon prior to the service at the church.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Joyce Jonas, Ronnie and Becki Jonas; daughters and sons-in-law, Cecilia and Butch Lucas, Angie and Lee Biggerstaff, all of Belmont; brother and sister-in-law, Rev. Dr. Jack and Louise Fox of Shelby; sister and brother-in-law, Becky and Benny Miller of Beverly Hills, Fla.; 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Adam Jonas and her son, Marshall Jonas; step father, Talmadge Belcher; brother, Jim Belcher and grandson, Josh Combs.
Memorials may be made to North Belmont Church of God, 2316 Acme Rd., Belmont, NC 28012.
