Patsy Broome Obituary

MOUNT HOLLY - Patsy Jones Broome, 78, died Nov. 5, 2008.

She was born in Rutherford County, daughter of the late Thamar Abram and Macie Greene Jones.

She was preceded in death by a sister Rachel Ann Jones; a sister and brother-in-law, Hillary and Bud Barker; a brother and sister in law Eugene and Eva Jones; a brother, Thamer "Dick" Jones; and brothers-in-law, Harold Friday and Jim Broome.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church where she was a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class and the Vagabond Travel Club. She was an avid golfer, a member of Cowan's Ford Golf Club and the Ladies Golf League. She was a retired vice president , credit department of American & Efird in Mount Holly after 40 years of service.

Survivors include her husband, William Andrew "Arnie" Broome; one son, Randy Broome and his wife Janet Rickman Broome of Denver; three sisters, Elizabeth Broome of Mount Holly, Betty Marble and her husband Fred of Mooresville and Helen Killian and her husband Don of Mount Holly; two brothers, Edwin Jones and his wife Pauline of Mount Holly and Hudson Jones and his wife Regis of Mount Holly; a sister-in-law, Pauline Jones of Stanley; two stepgrandchildren, John R. Hall and his wife Jennifer of Belmont and Jacqueline Hall of Charlotte; and numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.

A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Broome will be held 3 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Mount Holly with the Revs. Kendell Cameron and Brian Childers officiating.

Burial will be at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the church.
